Sharon D. Cammack, an associate at Jenkins & Kamin, L.L.P. since 1996, is considered by her coworkers and peers to be the voice of reason when it comes to addressing sensitive and often complex issues in the emotionally-charged practice of family law.
Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Sharon married her high school sweetheart and has reared two sons, while graduating Cum Laude in Political Science from Lamar University. In 1994, Sharon graduated from South Texas College of Law and immediately joined the firm of Jenkins & Kamin, first as a law clerk and then as an associate in 1996. Sharon represents clients in all types of family law disputes but finds her greatest professional satisfaction in working with those clients who find themselves entangled in custody litigation.
Sharon is a distinguished member of the Houston Bar Association, American Bar Association, and the Houston Bar Foundation. She is a member of the Burta Rhoads Raborn Family Law Inns of Court, a program mentoring to other family lawyers in the Houston community. Sharon is a regular participant in Night Court, an annual all-lawyer musical revue which raises money to benefit various charities through the Texas Bar Foundation.
Sharon has served for the last several years as a member of the editorial board of The Houston Lawyer magazine. Sharon is often asked to author papers for family law seminars and has published articles on a wide variety of issues including ethics, business valuations, child support, interstate custody disputes and enforcement. Sharon's participation in continuing legal education programs has earned her membership in the College of the State Bar, recognizing her among the lawyers who exceed the maximum standards for further legal education.
Advancing the cause of literacy, Sharon has regularly been member on the Lawyers for Literacy Committee of the Houston Bar Association and actively joins in their yearly efforts to collect, sort and distribute both children and adult books throughout the county to schools and other literacy programs. She was the recipient of the Houston Bar Association President's Outstanding Service Award in 2004 for her work on this committee.
When not practicing law, or reading the latest best seller, Sharon enjoys a new film or attending a live concert.
