Born and raised in Beaumont, Texas, Michelle Adams Thuillier (pronounced Twee-A) earned her Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting from the University of Texas at Dallas in 1997 and her Doctor of Jurisprudence in 2008 from South Texas College of Law. She was admitted to the State Bar of Texas in November 2008 and joined Jenkins and Kamin that same year.
Michelle is also a Certified Public Accountant and worked in accounting and finance for eight years before law school, including as an auditor for the international accounting firm of Deloitte & Touche, LLP. Michelle's education and experience as a practicing CPA is invaluable to the firm's many clients who own businesses or who need to unwind years of commingling separate and community property.
While in law school, Michelle was a member of the South Texas Law Review and Managing Editor of the Texas Journal of Business Law. Her law review comment on the subject of marital property was published in the South Texas Law Review. Michelle also participated in moot court as both a brief writer and oral advocate where she won best brief at a national competition and her team placed second overall. During law school, Michelle interned at the United States District Court, Eastern District of Texas with Chief Judge Thad Heartfield and at the First Court of Appeals in Houston with Justice George C. When not working, Michelle enjoys time with her family and husband Larry, also a CPA, and their dogs, Maggie and Meaux.
