Eileen Gaffney brings a wealth of experience to Jenkins & Kamin, LLP. Certified by the Texas Board of Legal Specialization in the area of Family Law in 2010, she received her undergraduate degree from Saint Thomas University in Philosophy and her Juris Doctorate from the University of Houston Law Center where she graduated Order of Barristers. While at the University of Houston she excelled in both mock trial and moot court tournaments each year, winning the coveted “best speaker” award in each competition.
After law school she began her distinguished career as a Briefing Attorney for the Fourteenth Court of Appeals. From there she worked in the Appellate and Securities Arbitration Division of a major multi-national law firm. Despite the demands of a large firm practice she also accepted cases through the Houston Volunteer Lawyers Program, eventually discovering a love for family law.
Eileen then began her own solo trial and appellate practice, distinguishing herself as both a skillful orator and artful writer. As a litigator, she has also been frequently appointed by the courts as an amicus attorney to represent children in contested custody proceedings. In February 2008, after twelve years as a solo practitioner, Eileen joined Jenkins & Kamin, LLP as an associate, where she has become an invaluable asset.
